MATECZNIK to „miejsce schronienia lub działania; też: miejsce, w którym zachowały się jakieś tradycje”.(cyt. za Słownik języka polskiego, pod red. W. Doroszewskiego, Warszawa 1958-1969.)
One of the buildings located in Matecznik Grange is the historical Manor House. It was built in the 19th century and belonged to the nobel Kurasz family. They were the lords of large swaths of land between Duszniki Wielkopolskie and Buk. The building was restored with significant attention to detail, in order to preserve the architecture of a bygone era.
In the dining room you will find an original fireplace from which a cosy, crackling fire will warm up cold, windy days. The original wooden doors, red brick walls and unique basement were also given a new lease of life.
The renovation of the house was carefully considered, so as not to detract from the ambience of the building and it is filled with an array of antiques. We have items from 19thto mid-century, which perfectly complement the more modern amenities of the property. You can even experience how earlier generations of children took classes at school, by sitting at an original desk which “grew” with a child.
On the ground floor of the building there is a fully fitted, modern kitchen, an office and two reception rooms, which can each host up to 60 people. The wonderfully comfortable suites on the first floor can sleep up to 15 people.
But this is not only a place for unique events. In the basement there is a space dedicated to fuelling your body and soul. Here you’ll find a cosy, welcoming SPA with a sauna, salt and massage rooms and a small gym. There is also a wine cellar from which you can enjoy some fantastic and great tasting wines.
